Calculate Your Estimated Gratuity
Uses a simplified UAE gratuity formula based on basic salary. This is an estimate, not legal advice.
After calculating, use the final-settlement and resignation checklist links to sanity-check the number before accepting a payment.
Before accepting a UAE final settlement
Use the calculator result as a first-pass estimate, then compare it against the employer's written final-settlement breakdown. The biggest differences usually come from the basic salary figure, service dates, unpaid leave, unused leave salary, notice-period treatment, or deductions.
- Check the basic salary used in the calculation, not only the total package.
- Compare the joining date and last working day with your contract and HR records.
- Review unpaid leave, unused annual leave salary, loans, advances, or other deductions separately.
- Keep the employer's written calculation before asking HR for clarification.

How UAE gratuity is commonly estimated
For many UAE employees, gratuity is calculated using basic salary and length of service:
- Less than 1 year: usually no gratuity.
- 1 to 5 years: 21 days of basic salary for each year.
- More than 5 years: 21 days per year for the first 5 years, then 30 days per year after that.
Actual entitlement can vary depending on contract details, law changes, unpaid leave, free-zone rules, final-settlement deductions, and disputes.
Important: This website is a free estimate tool, not legal advice. Always compare the result with your contract and official guidance.
The UAE Government portal states that end-of-service gratuity for foreign private-sector workers is calculated on the last basic salary and excludes allowances such as housing and transport. That means a salary certificate or contract split between basic salary and allowances is often the most important document to check.
